Meeting children where they’re at with a safe, creative outlet for processing trauma.

Delivered in schools, Project HOPE sessions are available as one-to-one or group work, making dramatherapy accessible to those who need it most.
Project HOPE:

  • Provides a lifeline for children with multiple ACEs, many of whom have witnessed domestic abuse
  • Increases self-awareness and resilience, helping children face future challenges
  • Builds children’s self-esteem and communication skills through drama techniques

Project HOPE offers a creative lifeline for children who’ve encountered four or more ACEs and experienced or witnessed domestic abuse. It steps in where other local services can’t, providing support now and preparing Holme Wood children for future life challenges.

Helping children labelled as “too high risk” access long-term therapeutic support that changes lives.Helping children labelled as “too high risk” access long-term therapeutic support that changes lives.

Since 2023, we’ve worked with 19 children, some through 12-week programmes and others over two academic years. While numbers may seem modest, the impact is profound and long-term. Many of these children are considered “too high risk” for other local services, meaning that without this project, they would miss out on vital support.
By tailoring therapy to each child’s trauma and needs, we’re bridging the gap where other services can’t. This work not only supports individual healing but also contributes to breaking cycles of abuse and building healthier futures.
Supporting children often highlights wider family needs too. In these cases, we extend a holistic, person-centred approach to ensure family safety and stability alongside the child’s therapeutic journey.
