Holme Wood Community Library

Transforming Holme Wood Community Library space into a centre for community activity with essential library services, Monday to Friday.

From the library (since September 2024), we run a vibrant programme that:

  • Supports families with creative activities such as storytelling, arts, and crafts
  • Brings parents together through coffee mornings and skills workshops
  • Expands digital access through offering free Wi-Fi, computer access, printing, and pre-loaded SIM cards in partnership with the National Databank to reduce digital poverty

Transforming the local library into a vibrant hub of creativity, learning, and connection.

In just a year, the library has become a lively hub for people of all ages. We’ve introduced workshops from baby sensory classes to sessions for over-50s, and supported schools and childminders who now regularly bring groups of children.

We’ve also joined national initiatives such as the Summer Reading Challenge and Rhyme Challenge, promoting literacy and language skills from an early age.

The library has quickly grown into a trusted, creative, and inclusive space where people feel welcome, connected, and supported.

What we can achieve in this space is limitless with the right support.
